Yoga of Awareness
Kundalini Yoga, often referred to as the "Yoga of Awareness," is a dynamic form of yoga aimed at fostering spiritual awakening and individual transformation. This practice combines physical exercises (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), meditation, and the use of mantras to awaken the Kundalini energy, considered a dormant force at the base of the spine. The goal is to channel this energy through the seven chakras (energy centers) up to the crown chakra at the top of the head. This process is believed to lead to an elevated state of awareness, mental clarity, and inner peace. Kundalini Yoga emphasizes the importance of self-awareness and seeks to harmonize the body, mind, and soul. It is often regarded as a path to greater vitality and a deeper understanding of oneself and the universe.
How did Kundalini Yoga enter my life?
Most of us are used to seeking fulfillment in external things. We live in a world that makes us believe that everything worth striving for lies in achieving worldly goals. However, our experiences continually show us that our deep inner longing for something "higher" cannot be satisfied by externalities. Most of the time, we are searching for something that always seems just out of reach. We are focused on doing rather than being, thinking more about our actions than our inner perceptions. It’s difficult to imagine a state of complete inner peace and calm where thoughts and feelings no longer swirl in constant turmoil. Yet only in such a state of silence can we reach a level of awareness filled with joy and insight, which cannot be attained in any other way. By applying step-by-step yoga methods, which make no concessions to blind belief or emotional excess, we can recognize our unity with the infinite intelligence, power, and joy that gives us all life and is the true essence of our being. The word "Yoga" means "union," the union of individual consciousness (or soul) with universal consciousness (or Spirit). While many people associate yoga only with physical postures – the asanas that have gained widespread popularity in recent decades – these are actually just the most superficial aspect of this profound science, which aims to unfold the infinite potential of the human mind and soul. Over many years, we have developed our personalities through spiritual journeys, trainings, and seminars. Our Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga training took place at the Arhanta Ashram in India and the Netherlands. I had the privilege of learning Kundalini Yoga from Navanita at the RA MA Institute in Los Angeles with Guru Jagat, Harijiwan, Tej Kaur Khalsa, and Gurujas. Our teacher is life itself, and we continue to educate and grow through it.
